Violence Interrupter Ameena Matthews first meets eighteen-year old Caprysha Anderson while mediating a conflict between two groups at a youth transition home for at-risk teenagers. Reminding her of her own difficult upbringing, Ameena becomes a mentor and mother-figure to Caprysha as she sees her through good times and bad.

The following educational module, Ameena & Caprysha: Women As Peacekeepers is designed to help students understand that peacekeepers help resolve, reduce, and prevent the likelihood of future conflicts. Peace building helps individuals make the difficult and early transition from conflict to peace. Individuals can promote peace in their communities.
