Interrupt Violence, a transmedia community engagement campaign inspired by the Independent Spirit Award-winning documentary film, The Interrupters, comprises educational outreach tools aimed at reducing the corrosive persistence of violence in American cities.
This website allows users to share their experiences of coping with violence while finding resources, strategies, and inspiration for positive change.
Interrupt Violence was created by Kartemquin Films with The Independent Television Service (ITVS) and The Mozilla Foundation through The Living Docs Project. The initiative is also supported by Tribeca Film Institute's New Media Fund and Motorola Mobility Foundation. Website design and development is by Kounterattack Design.
